The tiny Welsh parish of Mydrim lies on the River Taff in Carmarthenshire just 5 kilometres from the larger town of St Clears. Despite it having only a small population to call upon, the parish did hold a well-supported race meeting on Wednesday 26th April 1848. The card consisted of a Farmers’ race which was won by Bob, owned by David Davies, who beat Mr Evans’s Bess. However, the principal race was the Handicap Steeplechase which went to Mr T Powell’s bay gelding Ponsonby defeating a field of 6 others. There are no records of any later meetings taking place in the parish.
